Discovered a real gem of a special shop in the Marais district called ART else. A stone’s throw away from one of my past haunt Musee Carnavalet, stocked with 3 unique jewelry designers, and onsite is Lysvia Maiz a one-of-a-kind-and-made-by-hand designer. There I found 2 charming ladies to assist me but also make sure I would not snap any photos. They are afraid of other’s copying their work. It’s not that they’ve invented the wheel but they are providing lovely handiwork. Lots of delicate tulles, silk chiffons, succulent draping and goddess inspired creations. I didn’t see exactly perfect for me so they offered to show me additional pieces in a closet. I immediately honed in the perfect silk copper short dress. It came with a slip bandeau style and another reel of silk chiffon, which fastens behind the neck creating the perfect drape. Almost an upscale beach ensemble finished with an obi inspired belt. It was a bit of splurge as it was three pieces but it was my birthday and they did give me a nice discount. I was so inspired I decided to wear the dress for my birthday dinner in Paris that evening at the ChaChaClub, which used to be the hip place…2 years ago.
