Saks does it right

Saks Fifth Avenue

As a fashion stylist, I often get asked about my favorite stores. It got me thinking about my experience as a professional for private clients. I prefer going ‘beyond the B’s’-small up-and-coming off-the-beaten track boutiques. Most of the time it is beneficial and time effective to take a time crunched client to one of Manhattan’s BIG stores. That’s the B’s-Bergdorf’s, Barney’s, Bloomingdale’s plus Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Lord and Tailor, and occasionally Century 21. Usually, I go to the personal shopping department because the extra service they provide.

It’s very important to my business that the stores are knowledgeable of their merchandise, have a large selection of sizes and designers and are mindful of my clients’ time during the visit. It really comes down to speed and luxury. Saks Fifth Avenue just does it right.  They have wonderful service, offer drinks and light snacks in the dressing rooms that were recently remodeled. The views are pretty nice too as a few rooms face Rockefeller Plaza. They’ve always gone the extra mile to make my clients happy.
