Your Image Is Your Brand

By | October 3rd, 2012 | Confessions

Creating a successful image brand is one of my favorite topics, and I was honored to speak in depth about it on October 3, 2012, from 6:00–7:30 pm at The Heiser Group’s, Legacy Speaker Series, a part of their estate planning business model. It was an intimate gathering spearheaded by Nancy Heiser and her group whose goal of the series is to facilitate connections. Other speakers at the event included Peter Coleman from The Benefit Practice, Puck Meunier from KOOS & Co.

At the event I shared a number of useful tips and tricks to help professionals of all walks of life nail down a brand image that they love.

For example, does your professional headshot match up with your real life image and your online presence?

The first step to creating a successful personal image brand is to get to know yourself—most importantly, your strengths and weaknesses. From there, brainstorm words that you would like to describe your brand.

Not sure where to start? I highly suggest following Danielle LaPorte’s Style Statement, a series of inquiries that will help you identify a personal style statement that you can use for your entire life. I also find making a vision board with magazine cutouts and photographs to be very effective. These core words and images will drive the vision behind your brand.

I’m currently developing a program in this vein. Stay tuned for more details.
