Peplum styles are good for whom exactly?

This season I’ve seen my fair share of peplum styles, aka skirted-style blazers or a flouncy skirt over another skirt or dress. You might be wondering if you can wear this look. Peplum styles are great tools when used for the correct body type. For example, if you are narrower on the bottom half and have wider shoulders, a shape called inverted triangle, then this style is the perfect way to balance that out. How can you figure out if that’s your shape? Measure around your shoulders, bust, and hips. If your hips are more than 5% narrower than your upper half (shoulders and bust), then you are an inverted triangle. To bring balance back to your body and re-create the illusion of an hourglass shape, wear styles that add volume to your hip area. Peplum is brilliant for hourglass and inverted triangle shapes.
